Chair
Yang (Allen) Liu
B.Sc., E.I.T.
Yang (Allen) Liu is the Chair of the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba Chinese Members Chapter. He holds a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Manitoba and works at Neegan Burnside Ltd., specializing in municipal water and wastewater system design for First Nation and northern communities. Yang is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and supportive environment where Chinese engineers and geoscientists can connect, grow, and succeed together.

Siqi (Sookie) Xu
B.Sc., P.Eng
Siqi (Sookie) Xu graduated from University of Manitoba with a Civil engineering bachelor’s degree with distinction in 2019. She is a detail-oriented, highly passionate, and motivated woman with strong planning, managing and organizational skills, and is willing to continuously learn and contribute to the engineering industry. She is currently working as Project Manager at a bridge steel manufacturing company.

Jovian Jiawei Yang
E.I.T
Jovian joined the executive board of the Chapter in 2016 with passion and dedication to creating a stronger community for current and future Chinese engineers. He obtained his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Manitoba and has since established himself as a Mining and Land Reserves Coordinator at Lafarge Canada Inc. With over 40 sites to manage across Manitoba and Saskatchewan; he specializes in strategic planning, project coordination, and asset management.

Jasmine Li
B.Sc., E.I.T.
Jasmine Li was the Chair of Chinese Members Chapter in 2019-2020, Vice-Chair in 2017-2018, event coordinator in 2015-2016 and leader of youth committee in 2013-2014. She was also the Vice-Chair for Manitoba Chinese Community Center from 2011 to 2018. Her excellent leadership, project management skill come from her wealth of volunteering experience. Jasmine graduated from University of Manitoba, Bachelor of Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. She is working as Mechanical Design Engineer in Fort Garry Fire Trucks, focus on plumbing design and sheet metal design.

Feng Li
B.Sc., E.I.T
Feng Li is the Secretary of EGM Chinese Member Chapter. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2018. He is working as Application Engineer-in-Training at Ag Growth International.

Yao Wang
M.Sc., E.I.T
Yao Wang graduated from the University of Manitoba with a master degree in Civil Engineering. Yao has joined the Chinese Members Chapter of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba since 2024 and started volunteering in the Chapter in 2022. Yao has been working in the municipal field, specializing in the hydraulic and hydrological modelling .

Yi Liu
M.Sc., P.Eng.
Yi (Forest) Liu came to Canada in 2021. He graduated from Xiamen University with a master degree in Electronics Engineering. He worked at Motorola/WAI/InMicro as engineer or lead in China. He has worked in PGA as electronics engineer since 2021. Forest is an oriented, passionate, and motivated engineer who is happy to service for community. He participated lots of volunteer activities.

Qian (Harry) Qiao
B.Sc., P.Eng.
Harry graduated from the University of Manitoba in 2021 with Mechanical Engineering degree. Harry joined the Engineer Geoscientists Manitoba Chinese Members Chapter since 2022 and has been an active contributor towards the community. Harry is currently working as a Maintenance Engineer at Manitoba Hydro.

Shujin Qiu
B.Sc., E.I.T.
Shujin (Caroline) Qiu graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with distinction in 2018. Shujin has been a member of the Chinese Members Chapter of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba since 2019. With over seven years of project management experience, Shujin is currently working as a project estimator, focusing on utility and renewable energy projects.

Wing-Keat (Wayne) Wong
M.Eng., P.Eng
Wayne is a senior geotechnical engineer with over 24 years of experience working in Manitoba, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and British Columbia. He has extensive expertise in conducting and managing geotechnical investigations, as well as providing geotechnical analysis and design for mining, oil & gas, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure projects. Wayne also has significant field experience, having overseen numerous drilling programs and construction monitoring efforts. Additionally, he has served as a construction manager for mining, infrastructure, and commercial developments. His expertise also includes dam safety inspections, audits, and conducting dam failure modes and effects analyses.
Wayne is actively involved in supporting local communities through volunteer work. He has served as an executive for the Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS) Manitoba Section for over 10 years. As one of the founders of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba’s (EGM) Chinese Members Chapter, he has been an executive member since 2013. Wayne also sits on the Honours and Awards Committee of the Canadian Dam Association (CDA). He remains dedicated to helping and supporting the needs of all members.

Student Representative
Jenny Fang
Student
Jenny Fang is the student lead of the chapter, assist to arrange events, advertising and communicate with students. Jenny joined the Chinese Chapter of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba in 2022 and has been volunteering since then. She is currently a fourth year electrical engineering student at University of Manitoba with focus area in power systems.
