Jovian Jiawei Yang, E.I.T
Jiawei (Jovian) Yang is the Chair of the Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba Chinese Members Chapter (the “Chapter”). Jovian joined the executive board of the Chapter in 2016 with passion and dedication to creating a stronger community for current and future Chinese engineers. He obtained his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the University of Manitoba and has since established himself as a Mining and Land Reserves Coordinator at Lafarge Canada Inc. With over 40 sites to manage across Manitoba and Saskatchewa; he specializes in strategic planning, project coordination, and asset management.

Yang (Allen) Liu, B.Sc., E.I.T.
Yang (Allen) Liu graduated from the University of Manitoba with a science degree in Civil Engineering. Yang has joined the Chinese Members Chapter of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba since 2018 and started volunteering in the Chapter in 2019. Yang has been working in the water treatment field for more than five years, and he is currently working at Neegan Burnside Ltd., specializing in the municipal water and wastewater system design for the First Nation communities in Canada.

Yang Zhou, M.Sc., E.I.T
Yang (Andy) Zhou is the past Chair of the Chinese Members Chapter of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. He is an electrical engineer with 10 years of professional experience ranging from electrical power system design, power system modeling and study, system automation and on site testing. He received his M.Sc degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2017, he is currently a power system engineer with EPE Consulting.

Feng Li, B.Sc., E.I.T
Feng Li is the Secretary of EGM Chinese Member Chapter. He received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2018. He is working as Application Engineer-in-Training at Ag Growth International.

Siqi (Sookie) Xu, B.Sc., E.I.T
Siqi (Sookie) Xu is the Treasury of the Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba Chinese Member Chapter. She graduated from University of Manitoba with a Civil engineering bachelor’s degree with distinction in 2019. She is a detail-oriented, highly passionate, and motivated woman with strong planning, managing and organizational skills, and is willing to continuously learn and contribute to the engineering industry. She is currently working as Project Manager at a bridge steel manufacturing company.

Jasmine Li, B.Sc., E.I.T.
Jasmine Li is the Past Chair of the Chinese Members Chapter of Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba. She was the Chair of Chinese Members Chapter in 2019-2020, Vice-Chair in 2017-2018, event coordinator in 2015-2016 and leader of youth committee in 2013-2014. She was also the Vice-Chair for Manitoba Chinese Community Center from 2011 to 2018. Her excellent leadership, project management skill come from her wealth of volunteering experience. Jasmine graduated from University of Manitoba, Bachelor of Engineering with a concentration in Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. She is working as Mechanical Design Engineer in Fort Garry Fire Trucks, focus on plumbing design and sheet metal design.

Harry Xiong, B.Sc., E.I.T.
Harry Xiong has graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering. Currently, he is working as a Mechanical Engineer-In-Training in Generation Design Department at Manitoba Hydro

Lefu (Jeff) Ji, Student Leader
Lefu (Jeff) Ji is the Student Lead of the Engineers and Geoscientists Manitoba Chinese Members Chapter. He is currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering with a major concentration in Power and Energy Systems at the University of Manitoba and expects to graduate in May 2023. He had six-year experience in manufacturing and construction environments before heading to the university. He was a Junior Designer at New Flyer under the power distribution department during the first and second coop terms, mainly focusing on battery tray and fuse box designs. He also worked for Manitoba Hydro under the construction contracts department for his third coop term, supporting the preparation of Electrical and Overhead construction bid packages.

Wing Keat (Wayne) Wong, M.Sc. P.Eng
Wing-Keat Wong, aka Wayne came to Canada in 1999 from Malaysia. He graduated from University of Manitoba back in 2002 for B.Sc. in Civil Engineering. He worked at AMEC/Amec Foster Wheeler/Wood from 2002 to 2018 and is currently with Hatch as a senior geotechnical engineer since 2018. Wayne obtained his Master of Engineering in Geotechnical Engineering at University of Manitoba, while working full time. Wayne is a dedicated and passionate engineer who believes in giving back to the community. He actively participates and was an executive and chaired for Canadian Geotechnical Society (CGS) – Manitoba Chapter from 2007 to 2017. He is one of the founding member of the Chinese Members Chapter and has been an executive since 2014. He has created and led a joined summer picnic event to create an opportunity for various ethnic chapters members to know each other from other chapters. Wayne is also volunteering in a task group for Canadian Dam Association (CDA) and also volunteering as a scouter for the 103rd Scout Group.

Steven Wu, M. Sc., P. Eng., FEC.
Mr. Steven Wu is a Fellow of Engineers Canada. Steven graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Master Degree in Engineering. Steven is the founding member and the first Chair of the Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM) Chinese Members Chapter. Steven served as the Chair of the EGM Registration Committee for over 6 years and is the founding member of EGM Government Relationship Advisory Committee. Steven serves as the vice-chair of the Council of College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba, the regulatory body for the profession of medical laboratory technology in Manitoba.
