About the Event
Two speakers, Yang Zhou and Bruce Liu, will introduce how to prepare to get an engineering job as international students and immigrants. How they prepared a resume, cover letter and interview will be covered. Also, their working experience with industry will be introduced as well so that you can create a success plan with emphasis on industry-focused skill-building.
Guest Speakers
Yang Zhou is an electrical engineer with 8 years of professional experience ranging from electrical system design, automation and study. He received his M.Sc degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2017, his research focuses on micro-grid, especially control technology on solar power. He is currently a junior electrical engineer with Hatch.
Bruce Liu received both of his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering in 2017 and 2019, respectively, from the University of Manitoba. From August to October 2018, he was with Manitoba Hydro as an Intern student through the MITACS Accelerate. After receiving his M.Sc. degree, he worked as an R&D Engineer at the Global Energy Interconnection Research Institute in Beijing, China. He is currently working as an EIT specialized in power systems at Teshmont Consultants LP.
