Background of Speakers

Paul Klassen P.Eng

Paul Klassen has worked as a water/wastewater engineer at Neegan Burnside for 13 years.  Based in Winnipeg, the primary focus of his work has been water and wastewater treatment for remote First Nation communities.  This includes water treatment plants for several communities on long-standing boil water advisories, and wastewater treatment lagoons for communities that rely on air travel and winter roads for transportation.  He has also worked on water and wastewater servicing design for some large projects in these communities including schools and health centers.  Another component of his work is feasibility studies to identify communities’ future needs.  He has traveled across Canada throughout his career, with most projects located in Northern Manitoba and Northern Ontario.  Prior to working with remote communities in Canada, he worked in Mexico as a water and sanitation officer for an NGO.  He obtained his Engineering Degree at the University of Manitoba and completed an undergraduate research thesis on water treatment.

Yang Liu E.I.T.

Yang Liu received his B.Sc. degree in civil engineering from the University of Manitoba in 2018. Yang worked at Waterite Inc. as a water filtration system designer for various residential and light commercial applications, and currently, he is working as an Engineer-In-Training specialized in water and wastewater treatment design at Neegan Burnside Ltd., Winnipeg Office.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We look forward to seeing you at the seminar.
